The Technology Spring Institute is a professional development day for teachers on April 5th (during Spring Break). Teachers can choose from a wide-variety of virtual sessions, and will receive supplemental pay for their attendance! Choose just one session, or attend them all! Check out the session descriptions and links to register below. (Substitute teachers are welcome to attend, however we can't offer supplemental pay for subs- sorry).

Screencastify

Description: Empower your students to show what they know with Screencastify Submit. We'll show strategies for getting students to create videos where they narrate their thinking, show their work, and reflect on their learning. We’ll also cover how to use the editor to easily compile student responses in one place.
Kami

Description: Have you already used Kami, but are looking to delve deeper into what the tool has to offer? Come to this session to learn the “latest and greatest” of turning your teaching resources into interactive and engaging learning experiences with Kami.
Pear Practice
11:30am-12:30pm
Description: Pear Practice is a differentiated practice tool that leverages gamification (think Kahoot/ Quizizz) to engage students in collaborative and independent practice experiences. In this interactive Pear Practice session, you'll learn how you can maximize the impact of student collaborative and independent practice using Pear Practice gamification features, how to differentiate easily while using Pear Practice real-time data, and how to save time planning using the Pear Practice AI Content Generator, AI Explain Feature, and Class Remix feature. You'll leave this session with access to CCSS-aligned content you can use immediately as you support your students in mastering class content, and on the upcoming CAASPP.

Description: Book Creator is a simple tool for students and teachers to create digital books. In this session you will learn how you and your students can create a book in any content area, and use multimedia elements like video, audio, text, images, emojis and more to bring the book to life!
