LEARNING COMMUNITIES FOR SCHOOL SUCCESS PROGRAM (LCSSP)

The Learning Communities for School Success Program (LCSSP) provides funding to local education agencies (LEAs) to strengthen student outcomes. The program focuses on reducing truancy, supporting social-emotional well-being, and improving academic achievement. We are pleased to share that Pajaro Valley Unified School District (PVUSD) was awarded approximately $2,000,000 to support students and families from July 1, 2023, through June 30, 2026. This investment in our community allows us to uphold our longstanding commitment to providing every child with the opportunity to succeed.

How LCSSP Supports PVUSD Students

Through this funding, PVUSD has been able to offer a wide range of activities and supports that encourage growth in academics, social, and emotional well-being. These resources strengthen our schools and ensure that students are well supported both inside and outside the classroom. The grant has enabled us to expand access to critical services, including mental health support to promote student well-being, case management to assist families with truancy-related challenges, and restorative practices that foster positive relationships and resolve conflicts constructively. By strengthening these essential supports, our schools are better equipped to provide safe, supportive, and thriving learning environments for all students.

Programs and Activities Funded by LCSSP

  • Attendance initiatives and awareness campaigns

  • Restorative Practices professional development for teachers and administrators

  • MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support) assistance for administrators

  • Saturday Academies for academic and attendance support

  • A dedicated Mental Health Clinician

  • Funding for the Coordinator of Child Welfare and Attendance

  • A PVPSA Case Manager to support families during the SARB process

All of these activities are closely aligned with PVUSD’s Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) Goals, ensuring that the work supported by LCSSP contributes directly to the long-term success of our students.
