School Readiness
Migrant Education School Readiness Program (MESRP):
The Migrant Early School Readiness Program (MESRP) is a family literacy initiative designed for eligible migrant children aged three to five years. MESRP aims to enhance early childhood development by providing support to children and offering guidance to parents on strategies that foster early learning at home. The program focuses on the development of primary language and academic skills, and socio-emotional competencies, thereby preparing children for successful entry into Kindergarten.

Our home-based programs include weekly one-hour visits to the home and typically extend over a period of 15 weeks during the school year. Parental presence is required throughout each visit, allowing the home-visitor to serve as a model for effective parenting practices. During these visits, home-visitors offer coaching on key strategies and provide individualized activities to strengthen the parent-child relationship, tailored to the specific needs of the child. Families are supported with access to educational resources and materials.
Parent Education Workshops are conducted to offer training and resources to parents on fostering the development of a student's primary language. These workshops also equip parents with strategies to support early learning at home and to promote social-emotional development.
The Migrant Education School Readiness Summer Program is a four-week program that takes place from June to July and is designed to help children get ready for TK/Kindergarten.
