Attendance Recovery

Attendance Recovery

Attendance Recovery

As part of our After School Program, students who are with a certificated staff member may be able to recover missed school time from absences that occurred during the regular school day. This process allows the district to recover Average Daily Attendance (ADA) funding, which is vital for sustaining programs and services that benefit all students across PVUSD.

What This Means for Families

  • Students in After School may participate in Attendance Recovery when they are with certificated staff.
  • This participation helps the district maintain funding that directly supports educational programs, enrichment opportunities, and student services.
  • If you would prefer that your child not participate in Attendance Recovery and ADA fund generation through the After School Program, you may opt out at any time by visiting your school’s After School Office.

Although our goal is for students to be present every day, and direct school-day instruction is always ideal, the Attendance Recovery Program provides an important opportunity for students who have been absent.

Through this program, students can recover lost instructional minutes for up to 10 days of absence. This helps them stay connected academically and reduces the negative impact of missed days. While participating, students also benefit from enrichment activities, academic support, and a safe, structured environment.
