Live Scan fingerprinting is by appointment-only.
We adhere to social distancing practices.

ATTENTION: Do not enter any live scan facility if you have any COVID-19 symptoms (cough, fever, trouble breathing, etc.), are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test, or have been advised to self-quarantine. 


  • Practice social distancing by maintaining 6' distance between others.
  • Wear a face mask into the facility and throughout the process.
  • Limit any personal items brought into the site. 

Live Scan Fingerprinting for approved PVUSD Volunteers:

Following are the steps needed to process a School Volunteer.

  1. Volunteer completes this form: Volunteer Form or Forma para Voluntarios (Español)
  2. Send completed forms:
    • email to Elizabeth Mejia:
    • Or FAX to 831-761-6018
    • Or bring the form to Human Resources in person

Volunteer form MUST be authorized and signed by a site administrator.

When a volunteer comes to Human Resources to be fingerprinted they must bring an acceptable form(s) of photo ID
(see below) and TB clearance
. HR will not fingerprint volunteers without proper identification and TB clearance.

A volunteer may not begin service until they have been cleared by Human Resources.


  Acceptable primary forms of photo identification include the following:

Valid California Driver license

 Valid Department of Motor Vehicles Identification Card

 Valid Out-of State Driver License

  • I have been fingerprinted before with a different agency/employer. My prints are in the system. Can you use those fingerprint results?

No. The Department of Justice requires each applicant to be re-fingerprinted with every new application for employment. For your privacy protection, personal background information cannot be shared between agencies.

  • When can I get my result?

Processing times vary.  A response from the Department of Justice can take just a few hours, to days and sometimes months. Please call approximately 7 days from the day you were fingerprinted to get your results.

  • Is there a fee?

Live Scan fingerprinting services are free to PVUSD employees and volunteers
