OHLONE TEACHER RECEIVES CRYSTAL APPLE AWARD

Ohlone teacher Ronnie Platt has been awarded the Crystal Apple Award. The award is given by KSBW-TV and Dole Fresh Vegetables to one teacher each month from September through May. The award recognizes the efforts of educators.

Platt has been teaching Special Education at Ohlone Elementary School for 3 years.

Lauren Costello, a fourth grader in Platt’s class, and her mother Kathy Jackson, nominated the teacher for the award. “He is an excellent teacher; he is extremely patient and has a cheerful disposition. He keeps his room very organized and clean. He is always willing to speak with his students and/or parents if they have any questions,” Jackson said.

“I’m very honored, particularly to be nominated by a parent and a student. I was very surprised to receive it,” Platt said of the award.
