Pajaro Valley Unified School District is proud to welcome Elena Fajardo to the district as the new Director of English Learner Services. Elena began her career in education as a P.E. teacher and multicultural dance instructor.
During her career, she has been a classroom teacher, a mentor teacher, an ESL resource teacher, and a bilingual teacher. Elena has also taught classes at the university level and been a bilingual program developer and teacher trainer. Most recently, Elena has been employed by the California Department of Education with the responsibility and oversight of Bilingual Migrant Education programs’ language policy, English learner accountability and language proficiency, and academic accountability. Ms. Fajardo received her B.A. at CSULA in Mexican-American Studies, and her M.A. in Educational Administration at National University, Costa Mesa.
She is a practiced expert in the field of serving English learners with quality programs and is known for her clear, respectful, and warm style in working with adults and teams to better serve students. Elena’s wealth of experience prepares her extremely well for leading the district’s English learner programs.
