Mintie White Elementary School was founded on April 5, 1929. The school was named in honor of Armenta Allison, who later became known as Mintie White. She was an exceptional teacher, who was quoted as saying, "I never met a child I couldn't love." Nevertheless, she had high expectations for her students, and a strong hand in promoting their performance.
