The Pajaro Valley Unified School District Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) is a single district SELPA. The SELPA is governed by the PVUSD Board of Trustees and operates as a Responsible Local Agency (RLA). The PVUSD Board of Trustees employs the SELPA/Special Services Director, Program Directors, Program Specialists, and all special education personnel in the District. The Community Advisory Committee (CAC) serves in an advisory capacity to the Board of Trustees and SELPA Administration.
The SELPA staff includes the Director, Program Directors, Program Specialists and support staff. This group supports special education and related services in the SELPA. Additional information related to these services is included in this web site.
The primary goal of the California Master Plan for Special Education is to provide a full range of comprehensive services to meet the educational needs of all individuals with disabilities. While this goal has remained constant, state and federal regulations have undergone multiple revisions. This has necessitated revisions in the local process, procedures, and forms.
