Please read the information on this page detailing the documentation needed to apply online for classified non-teaching positions.
The District is accepting applications for permanent and temporary position which include substitute positions to work at various locations throughout the District. You may complete an application online to obtain an application from Human Resources Office at the Pajaro Valley Unified School District located at 294 Green Valley Road, Watsonville Ca or download application from H.R. Web site
SELECTION PROCEDURE: A completed application must be received and processed for the applicant to be eligible for employment consideration. Applications are accepted only for positions that are currently being advertised. Only completed applications will be accepted.
Individuals interested in employment are asked to describe any training, education, experience, or skills relevant to this position. The process will begin with the competitive screening of qualified applicants. The most qualified applicants will be invited to participate in a written and oral examination process. Fingerprinting and criminal record checks will be done on all prospective employees. Applicants needing special accommodations for testing should submit a request to Human Resources at the time of application. resumes are optional.
If you do not have access to a computer with an internet connection and/or do not understand how to submit an on-line application, a computer is available in the Human Resources Office where our staff will assist you in submitting your application.
Some classified positions will require additional licensing information (if applicable):
Certificated Transcripts California Drivers License DMV-H6 print (for bus drivers) Pesticide Applicator's License (for applicable Maintenance Positions) Letters of Recommendation are encouraged
EMPLOYEE BENEFITS: All regular/permanent employees who work a minimum of half time (20 hours per week) are entitled to the following benefits (effective on the first of the month following employment)
ADDITIONAL EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION: Employment with the Pajaro Valley Unified School District is not complete or official until applicants meet all pre-employment requirements, including Board of Trustees approval. As part of the selection process, all new employees are required to provide the following information: New employee must be fingerprinted (paid by the district; TB Test (paid by the employee); social security card; picture identification; and authorization to work (I-9).
PAY DAYS: Permanent employees are paid on the last working day of each month. Temporary employees are paid on the 10th of the month. PROBATION AND SALARY POLICY: All new permanent employees serve a six (6) month (130 working days) probationary period prior to becoming permanent employees. New employees typically start on the first step. Employees receive a step increase on the first of the month following completion of the probationary period. Additional step increases occur yearly thereafter until the sixth salary step is achieved. Employees who work less than twelve (12) months per year/or eight (8) hours per day are advised that they should calculate their pay rate on an hourly basis. NOTE: All applicants and employees are subject to the policies, rules, and regulations of the Board of Trustees and the Personnel Commission.
