and federal regulations for English
Learners, provide all required
assessments in English and in the
students´ native language
(if assessments are available in
that language)
Provide consistent program explanation, linking the
student to the best possible program for him/her
Assist in providing continuity of instructional services
as students move into the district or from one school to
another
Monitor student progress towards redesignation and
for a year after redesignation
Link the district´s ELD Benchmarks to initial
assessment to to provide a "starting point" for the classroom
teacher
Provide consistent, coordinated assessment, documentation,
and data entry of student information (SASI/SASI-XP)
- Referral for in-depth
diagnosis as part of a coordinated
school-wide student study team
(SST) procedure
