The
Central California Writing Project
(CCWP) is working with PVUSD schools
to improve student achievement
through improving the teaching
of academic writing. Susan
Freeman, from CCWP, will be attending
the CCVT meetings to assist sites
with writing achievement in both
language arts and math. She will
also assist in using storytelling
in the standards-based curriculum.
This partnership serves the
district in two ways; assisting
the district focus on guiding
the entire district need for
writing process implementation
and at the school sites to
help teachers. The Watsonville
Writing Collaborative is building
a vertical collaboration in
the South and Central IIUSP
schools to develop a professional
community that can articulate
the teaching of writing up
across the grades. This is
a model program. Written into
the school site improvement
plan and connected to the new
reading adoption through AB
466.
Essential
Question: What should student
writing look like when it comes
to grading it with the writing
rubric?
