When you need to request a change in pickup or drop off
When you have a change of address, you must call SELPA 786.2100 ex 2776 or 2777 Changes can take up to 5 days to complete. Once a change is completed, SELPA will call the parent with the time change and possibly route change.
When A Student does not need a bus
When your student is not going to school in the morning, please call Transportation at 728.6324 to let a dispatcher know that your student is not riding the bus today. If we go by your house 3 days in a row to pickup and no one comes out we will cancel transportation until you call.
Morning Pick-Up at Home
Parents are expected to have their student(s) outside at the determined pick-up location five (5) minutes before their arranged pick-up time. This procedure must be followed regardless of weather conditions (e.g. rain, cold, etc.).
The bus driver is expected to come to a complete stop at the designated pick-up location. If the driver does not see the student when the bus stops, the driver will leave and continue to the next stop. Drivers are not expected to honk the horn (VC27001) or to wait for students.
15 Minutes after the designated pick-up time, the parent/guardian is urged to call Transportation to determine the status of the bus. Transportation will inform the parent/guardian of the approximate time off arrival.
Afternoon Drop-off Time
An adult (18 year old) must be present at the designated drop-off location, Five (5) minutes after school is completed for the driver to drop off the student. The bus driver is not expected to honk the horn (VC27001) or call the home, or wait for an adult to arrive. In the event that an adult is not present, the student will be returned to school and the parent/guardian must arrange for the student to be picked up at school.
