Key to the success of the SWEET program is a comprehensive professional development plan designed to build the capacity of the English Language Arts teachers at all five middle school sites.  The specific professional development activities of the SWEET program include the following:

  • Comming up this month!

  • Integrated Writing and Technology Training – March 2007 – 1 Day

    • Teachers will attend only one training day in March.
    • March 21st 2007 - 1 Day
    • March 22nd 2007– 1 Day

  • Summer Planning Workshop – On July 17th - 21st 2006, the SWEET Program Planning Team will be assembled for a five-day workshop and that will be attended by district representatives from each of the five middle schools, partners, and professional developers and trainers.

    • July 17th - 21st 2006 – 5 Days
  • Integrated Writing and Technology Training – All 48 Language Arts teachers from the five middle schools will receive four full days of training in the integration of technology with the various writing components of the program, two in September 2006, one in November 2006, and one in February 2007.

 

  • Technology Integration Coaching – September 2006 through June 2008 – Ongoing

    • Coaching is as needed for SWEET Coordinator Grant Coffin
