Continuous Improvement Cycle/Refining the Program |
- Classroom Observations: Coaches and the Evaluator will use the WestEd Technology Use tool developed from ACOT research that identified levels of adoption to observe each teacher’s use of technology at least 4 times during the year. Coaches will record classroom observation data each coaching session, recording technology use using a classroom technology use observation form.
- Teacher Surveys: Teachers will submit monthly electronic surveys to the evaluator indicating which standards-based lessons have been addressed using technology the previous month, including how technology was used to further student academic achievement.
- Collected data regarding increased teacher use of technology and improved standards-based teaching strategies will be collected, organized and presented at Leadership and teacher meetings by the Evaluator, and results will be discussed with participants. Areas of need will be discussed using this data, and ideas to make improvements, including resources and support needed, will be identified, recorded and disseminated to all involved in the project
- Project Leadership (Principals, Instructional Tech Coaches, District Technology Director, District Reps. and Evaluator) will review student use and improved achievement at quarterly leadership meetings. Administrative support needs for activities will be identified and decisions implemented by coordinators and coaches, supported by the Technology Director.
- EdTech Profile Teacher Tech Use Survey: Teachers will complete a pre-test during the Integrated Writing and Technology Training in Aug. ‘06. A formative and post-tests will be administered in May, ’07 and ‘08.
- Pre-test results will be shared at the following leadership team meeting and to teachers at the next scheduled Integrated Writing and Technology Training (4 days across the term of the project) by the Evaluator. Teachers will identify needs for improvement that should be incorporated in order to improve student technology use to address standards. Project leadership will use this data to plan improvements to be implemented by coaches and coordinators under the Technology Director.
- Professional Development Logs/Sign-In Sheets/Evaluations Teachers will log time in professional development through using sign-in sheets, or by log sheets kept and turned into the evaluator twice a year. Even evaluations will be maintained online.
- Activity logs and sign-in sheets will be collected at each event and transferred to the evaluator, who will track and report data at quarterly Leadership meetings. Evaluation summaries will also be collected and reported to the Leadership Team quarterly. Project leadership will use this data to review events and teacher responses, and plan improvements to be implemented by coaches under the Technology Director.
