Integrating Technology into Teaching and
Learning/Students Meeting State Standards

- Teacher Surveys:Teachers will submit monthly electronic surveys, provided by the Evaluator, indicating standards-based lessons that have been addressed using technology the previous month, including student use.
- Observation Checklists: Coaches & the Evaluator will collect data from classroom observations of student use of technology using the WestEd Observation Tool and Coaching Observation Log Database indicating the level and standards alignment of technology use.

- Collected data regarding student use of technology and academic achievement will be presented at quarterly leadership team meetings and to teachers at the Integrated Writing and Technology Trainings (4 days across the term of the project). Areas of need will be discussed, and ideas to make improvements, including resources and support, will be identified, recorded and disseminated to all involved in the project. Classroom implementation of decisions, and coaching scheduling and observation database use will be coordinated and supported by the Project Coordinator.
- Project Leadership (Principals, Coordinator, District Rep. and Evaluator) will review student use and improved achievement at tri-yearly leadership meetings. Administrative support needs for activities will be identified and decisions implemented by principals, coordinator and mentors.

- EdTech Profile Student Tech Use Survey: Pre-test will be administered by Sept. ‘06 targeting one selected class per grade level in each participating school. Post-testing will be administered in May, ’07 and ‘08.

- Pre-test results will be shared at the first quarterly leadership team meetings and to teachers at the Integrated Writing and Technology Trainings (4 days across the term of the project) by the Evaluator. Formative and post-test results will be reviewed at the appropriate leadership and teacher meetings. Teachers and leadership will identify needs for improvement that should be included into the subsequent activities to improve student technology use to address standards, supported by coaches and coordinators, overseen by the Technology Director.

- Software Management Tools: Student management reports indicating progress and logs of student use from RXNetWriter will be collected monthly by teachers and sent to the Evaluator.

- The Evaluator will collect and report management data at leadership team meetings and teachers at the Integrated Writing and Technology Trainings (4 days across the term of the project). Student usage and progress will be discussed with improvement strategies. Areas of need will be identified and strategies for improvement made, recorded and disseminated to others in the project, supported by coaches and Coordinators, overseen by the Director of Technology.
- Project leadership will evaluate data, teacher decisions and make recommendations as to resources and support to improve the program.

- Standardized Tests: The required California Standards Test (CST) Language Arts test will be administered in the Spring according to district scheduling.

- STAR data will be reviewed by participants and administrators in regular review sessions scheduled district-wide as soon as it is released by the State. Data will be reviewed by the Leadership team and will be used to gauge whether strategies are effective or not. Modifications will be discussed and professional development altered as needed to improve the program.
