Business Services > Technology > Staff Development > Technology Integration GrantsNew Technology Integration Grants for 2008 We now have two groups of technlogy integration grants that the Technology Services Department is sponsoring. The first group of 12 teachers from schools accross the district have been awarded laptops and are attending 10 trainings designed to take them from the beginning levels of technology use and curricular itegration to more advanced levels. Check out our staff develpment Workshop page to see descriptions of the classes. Then trainings for the next round of grants will begin in April for our Digital Storytelling group. This group of 12 teachers will be awarded digital cameras and have the opportunity to attend image manipulation and digital storytelling classes. They will revceive training and support as they implement digital storytelling projects with their students. One of the main goals of this grant is to keep technology project based learning opportunites going in our district. Technology Integration Grants from 06/07 These grants are in their second year of implementation. Teachers continue to implement great technology based projects with their students with the support of the Technology Services Department. As these teachers attend trainings and get coaching from their Technology Liaison and other district staff, they make great strides while keeping technology project based learning alive in our district. Grant Winners
Grant Description: Teacher Pairs with a common standards based curricular need in their classroom will work together to write a project based technology proposal. The proposal will explain how they will use technology to meet the identified need in their classroom. All Projects should have an ELD component and incorporate academic language. Six project proposals will be selected to receive this grant. The six pairs that are selected will receive a cart with an LCD projector, 2 laptops, 2 digital cameras, and 1 digital video camera. Two technology packages will be awarded per zone, one in elementary and one secondary.
