Radcliff Elementary School

Project:

Remodeling the existing Radcliff School and adding 20 two story relocatable classrooms and a new multi-purpose building to also be used as a community center.  Will purchase the parking lot from the City of Watsonville and eight neighboring parcels to create a parking lot and play field for the school and the community.

$8,600,000 State Hardship funds and $600,000 District Certificates of Participation funds

CEQA:

Negative Declaration adopted by the Board July 2000.

Toxic Review:

Completed clean-up on school site and completed lead clean-up on three parcels.  The Department of Toxic Substance Control (DTSC) needs to approve our PEA plan for toxic containment during demolition following public hearing with DTSC providing contingent approval.  This should then produce final (California Department of Education (CDE) approval.

Aeronautical Review:

CDE Approval:

Preliminary approval.  Waiting for letter from DTSC.

Site Purchase:

Appraisals updated and in final negotiations with City and eight land owners, three parcels already in escrow.

DSA Approved Plans:

Approved.

OPSC Status:

Project submitted to Office of Public School Construction (OPSC) with Department of Toxic Substance Control (DTSC) and State Department of Education (SDE) approval.
